How do I set up a new account?
Power House Hosting is your best choice for affordable web hosting. It's easy to get started.
Just click on the "Order" button above and fill out the online form.
After completing the order form you will be required to pre-pay a set dollar amount depending on the payment plan you choose.
All plans receive Free Setup and we usually offer some type of domain name special, whether it's a Free domain name or a
discount. Once payment is received your account will be setup within 4 business hours.
If you are transferring a domain name your account will not become active until the transfer is complete.
Transferring can take up to 1 week.
Do I have to transfer my domain to your servers?
No. We leave this choice up to you. You can simply change your DNS settings to our affordable web site hosting servers if you choose to leave your domain name at your current registrar. We will provide you with our DNS settings in your welcome email if you choose to do this. Please keep in mind if you do leave your domain name at your current registrar we will not have control over your domain name so you will be responsible for renewing your domain name.
I have never designed a web site, can someone help me?
Yes. At Power House Hosting, your affordable website hosting resource, we are available to help in any way possible. We only ask that you at least go through the web design (HTML) tutorial first. The web design tutorial is part of the hosting package and is located in our helpdesk section with all of the other documentation. Creating a web site is very easy. All you need is a little time and patience. If you get stuck on something please contact the helpdesk.
Do you offer web design services?
Yes. Please contact us if you are interested in having a custom web site designed.

Do I get my own WWW. Domain?
Yes. Even with our low-cost, economical web hosting, you get your own domain. You may choose a new domain during sign up, keep your domain at your current registrar and simply change your DNS settings or transfer an existing domain to our servers. If you are transferring a domain you will need to follow the transfer instructions in your welcome email. We are also available for any questions you may have.
What Domain extensions do you host?
We host all domain extensions however we only provide registration services for .com, .net, .org, biz, info, .us, .de, .ca, org.uk, co.uk and .cn All other domain types must be registered with another registrar.
How do you handle domain renewals?
If you elect to purchase a new domain or transfer an existing domain to us upon signup, you must renew your domain name every year. Domain renewal prices are on our homepage. Your domain is your property. You will be billed on your year-end invoice for your domain renewal(s).
What is the purpose of your marketing documentation?
As a part of our professional web site hosting, the marketing documentation simply provides you with the inside scoop on how Internet advertising works. We offer a do-it-yourself approach to getting good placement within search engines. We also offer the name of the company we used. We do not claim to be marketing experts but we do know what works and what doesn't. There are many disreputable companies on the net today. This documentation was meant to help our customers get going in the right direction.
What is the purpose of the Merchant Account Documentation?
Again, as part of our professional web site hosting, we share information on another confusing area for "newbies". This documentation helps our customers understand what merchant accounts do, the differences and options. We also offer suggestions on free and low cost merchant account providers and how to get it working properly on your web site.
What Forms of Payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and PayPal.
How much does additional bandwidth cost if I go over the limit?
Additional bandwidth costs $5 per 10GB per month. Overages are determined and billed monthly. If you continue to go over the limit you may consider contacting us to upgrade your bandwidth to avoid getting monthly bills.
If I go over the limit will you shut off my service?
Absolutely not. Overages are determined and billed monthly.
How much space and bandwidth do I get with your hosting?
200MB disk space and 10GB bandwidth. More than enough for a complete E-Commerce site.
Can you explain how much 200MB disk space and 10GB file Transfer really is?
Without going into great detail about Bits and Kbytes we have used our site as an example.
Keep in mind this is only an example. File size and webmail impacts your disk space.
Power House Hosting's site uses 45MB of disk space. The entire site (including support section)
has around 200 webpages, some complex scripts, a flash presentation and over 50 Different graphics.
There is no sure way to tell you exactly how much you will use until you upload all of your
files and graphics to the web server. 200MB of WEB space should not be confused for
200MB of disk space on your personal computer. There is a big difference.
This is more than enough for a complete e-commerce enabled website. And if you need more,
more is available upon request. Additional Charges may apply.
How do I know how much space/bandwidth I have used for the month?
We offer complete statistics within your control panel. When you log into control panel you will see your space/bandwidth usage totals. This is a running total that begins on the first of each month and ends on the last day of the month. You will always know how you stand.
Are there any content restrictions?
We do not host pornography, stolen software trading, adult-oriented material, gambling, hate sites, MP3 sites.... anything we deem distasteful, immoral, illegal, illicit, or of an adult nature is not allowed. Please read our terms of use agreement for further information.
What is bulk e-mail/spam policy?
To keep our hosting affordable We have strict policies against spamming and bulk e-mail. Users who spam via e-mail, newsgroups, etc. are not allowed on our web servers. If we receive complaints of spamming and bulk e-mail, your account could be terminated without warning and no refunds made. Please read our terms of use agreement for further information.
Can I have more than one domain pointed to my account?
Yes, this is called 'pointed domains', we do not charge extra for this but you will have to purchase the domain name either through us or a 3rd party registrar.
Do "pointed domains" receive e-mail?
No, these simply redirect users to your main domain. Any email sent to pointed domains are forwarded to a catchall e-mail account under your main domain.
What types of hosting do you offer?
We host Linux- (unix) based accounts. This includes, MySQL PHP and many other services.
Is your hosting compatible with merchant accounts?
Yes. As far as we know all merchant accounts work on our servers including 2checkout.com and Pay-Pal.
Do you provide merchant accounts?
No. We do not provide merchant accounts. We only offer documentation and a free shopping cart for your use in conjunction with your merchant account but we do not support or offer a merchant account. However, we are always here to answer any questions you may have when searching for a merchant account provider. We also have merchant account documentation you can read in our helpdesk section.
What type of support do you offer?
Experience has taught us that helpdesk support is the most efficient form of help.
Our helpdesk is staffed 24X7 and are very responsive. We also provide emergency cell phone access numbers to reach the on-call tech if need be. You can rest assured that our staff has the experience and qualifications to successfully serve your needs.
Do you support Front Page or complex scripts?
All of our servers are equipped with the latest Front Page extensions and complete perl, PHP and asp structures. This means you may publish and take full advantage of the features FrontPage and most third party programs offer.
